The language of the room

The language of the room is a project about a multilingual word game, which displays the multilingualism in Moerwijk and the beauty in linguistic diversity. By intertwining languages and creating confusion, I wanted to create a communication trigger for the residents to break out of their linguistic bubbles. This interaction will help them overcome the language barriers. By creating a spatial intervention in the public space, I aimed to find a common ground for people to get together. The main goal of my project is to evoke multilingual communication between the residents of Moerwijk and initiate a feeling of community, empathy and belonging.
